Future of Development Cooperation
Migration and cash flows demonstrate the lack of confidence that many African societies have in their economic and political systems. If this problem is to be solved, development cooperation actors need to work with the private sector and strengthen civil society structures in order to gradually work themselves out of a job.
Germany’s cooperation with rising powers is in our own interest – and also a goal in itself: only through cooperation can we create sufficient trust to engage in joint solution-seeking. We are increasingly engaging in a „world of uncertainties“, and thus need partners for problem-solving, both regionally and globally.
